Mimeo-print Workshop on fabric and paper
Culture Connected, ÖAD, Vienna

The workshop idea "Obsolete Objects" addresses the topic of obsolescence, i.e. the "ageing of a product, making it obsolete or unusable" (Duden), and thus addresses a central issue of sustainability. Together with the students, we think about analog and digital (printing) technologies and devices, about economic efficiency and the environment, and also address a level of transience and the forgotten. The keywords obsolete, forgotten and outdated span generations and therefore appeal to grandparents, parents and children.
This idea should be used productively in the workshop. The intergenerational moment is expressed in the workshop task: "Find an object that is obsolete today, or think about which object will be obsolete in 30 years." The content-related examination of obsolescence is also followed by the technical implementation via mimeographs.
